Created especially for the distinctive space of the Roundhouse, Until the Lions mesmerised critics and audiences alike during its 2016 world premiere for the cast's remarkable performance, powered by Khan's blend of kathak movement and contemporary dance. In Akram Khan's adaptation of Karthika Naïr’s book _Until the Lions: Echoes from the Mahabharata; _the show is his choreographic response to the character of Amba, exploring revenge, notions of gender, and time in a battle for justice and liberty. Following its 2016 debut on our stage, an international tour and critical acclaim, the show returned to the Roundhouse for a limited run in 2019.
